Export Shorts and Landscape WebM from Voxalike

5 min read · Updated 2026-08-29

Capture My Shorts Video, landscape video, or audio from Voxalike results—and keep local WebM renders from dying mid-export.

Know the three common export targets

After a Voxalike scene, results typically offer My Shorts Video, My Landscape Video, and My Audio Track. Shorts is vertical for mobile feeds. Landscape fits YouTube, Discord, or desktop review. Audio-only helps when you want to edit elsewhere or the video render is too heavy for the device.

Browser exports from Voxalike are usually WebM. That is normal, not a failed MP4. Convert later in a trusted tool if a platform demands another container. Do not chase plugins during the results screen; grab the file first while the room state still exists.

Decide the target before the scene ends so you are not experimenting under time pressure. Party hosts often grab landscape for the group archive and let individuals export Shorts for personal posts. Naming files with pack and date prevents a Downloads folder full of identical “voxalike” filenames.

Understand that WebM is a container your browser can produce efficiently. Platforms that dislike WebM are a later problem. Capture first. Conversion tools are plentiful; recovering a lost take is not. Anyone insisting the game is broken because the file is not MP4 needs that explanation once.

Build a naming convention: date, pack slug, mode, aspect. Future you will search for “coop-landscape” instead of opening twelve identically named files. Sharing to Discord with clear names also reduces “which one is the good take” threads.

When posting publicly, prefer a second listen the next day. Fatigue hides problems. A morning pass catches clipped intros and feedback you normalized at 1 a.m. Delay is a quality tool, not only procrastination.

Make export the closing ceremony of every Voxalike room: choose Shorts, landscape, or audio on purpose, keep the tab awake, confirm the file size, and rename the download before chat erupts. That ceremony is what turns ephemeral laughter into a clip you can still open next month.

Export is part of the Voxalike loop: perform, review, save. Shorts, landscape WebM, and audio each serve a job. Keep the Voxalike tab alive until the file is real on disk, then share. Lost encodes are usually patience failures, not missing talent. Name Voxalike downloads with pack and date, and keep an original WebM even after you post a compressed copy from the same Voxalike night.

Keep the tab alive while the render runs

WebM rendering happens locally in the browser. If you switch apps, lock the phone, or let the laptop sleep, the encode can pause or fail. Stay on the Voxalike tab, keep the screen awake, and wait for the download to appear before celebrating in another window.

Close heavy tabs before export. Dozens of video sites, editors, and chat clients compete for memory. If a previous export failed, free RAM, retry once, and avoid starting a second render in parallel. One clean encode beats three half-finished attempts.

Wired power helps on laptops. Battery savers throttle CPU and stretch encodes until someone assumes the button is broken. Disable low-power modes for the export minute. On mobile, landscape orientation plus an awake screen is the minimum viable setup.

For Shorts, watch framing: vertical crops can clip captions or character business that landscape preserved. If a pack is visually wide, landscape may be the better master even when you plan to post vertical later with manual framing.

If a platform rejects WebM, convert from your archived original rather than re-recording. The value of a Voxalike take is the performance you already captured; do not gamble it on a second attempt because a social app preferred another container.

Troubleshooting downloads that never appear

First confirm the browser is not blocking downloads for the site. Check the downloads shelf or blocked-download icon. Then retry the same export option once. If Shorts fails but audio succeeds, take the audio and note that video encode needs a lighter machine or fewer background tabs.

If the results screen vanished, look for Voxalike Recent Dubs recovery before redoing the entire performance. Replaying twenty minutes because you closed early is avoidable pain. When recovery exists, export immediately after restoring the entry.

Corrupt or zero-byte files mean the render was interrupted. Delete the bad file, free space on disk, and export again. Full disks fail quietly. Keep a few gigabytes free if you regularly save landscape clips from long rooms.

Audio Track exports help editors who want to rebuild video in another tool. They also rescue low-RAM machines. Keep audio even when video succeeds; dual archives survive one corrupt video file.

Practice the export buttons once in a tiny solo Voxalike scene before a big Co-op night. Muscle memory for My Shorts Video versus My Landscape Video prevents panicked mis-clicks when ten friends are waiting on the results screen and joking in voice chat.

Share smart without losing the master

Keep an original Voxalike WebM archive even if you compress a copy for chat. Re-encoding from a squeezed upload looks worse than exporting again from the game—and you may not be able to export again. Store keepers in a dated folder, not only on your phone’s camera roll from a mirrored share.

When posting Shorts, listen on headphones first for feedback or clipping you missed on speakers. Landscape reviews catch framing and subtitle timing if the pack includes burned cues. A thirty-second listen saves an embarrassing public upload.

Teach new players that export is part of the loop, not an optional afterthought. The fun of Voxalike compounds when the group can rewatch last week’s Co-op disaster. Stable WebM habits—foreground tab, free memory, known target—turn good takes into files you still have tomorrow.

Check the downloads permission when a button appears to do nothing. Chromium quietly blocks repeated downloads from a site until you allow them. One click on the blocked icon fixes “Voxalike won’t export” reports that were actually browser UI.

Ready to practice?

Return to the live player when you have a short checklist, then export before you close the tab.
